Morton Rhue liest aus „Dschihad Online“ – und wir sind dabei!

Am 20.3.2017 besuchten 24 Schülerinnen und Schüler der Q 12 die englischsprachige Lesung des erfolgreichen US Jugendbuchautors Morton Rhue. Insgesamt kamen nur 4 Klassen der Würzburger Gymnasien in den Genuss, den bekannten Autor der „Welle“ zu hören.  Die Art und Weise, wie Morton Rhue, der auch unter seinem richtigen Namen Todd Strasser bekannt ist, auf gleichsam unterhaltsame und lehrreiche Weise Lesung mit Hintergrundinformationen verband, ja fließend ineinander übergehen ließ – noch dazu in sehr gut verständlichem Englisch und mit viel Humor - hat uns alle begeistert.

Der sehr sympathische 66jährige New Yorker stand nach ca. 45 Minuten Lesung noch für viele Fragen u.a. zur politischen Lage in USA zur Verfügung. Im Anschluss signierte er mitgebrachte Bücher und Plakate, die man im Schaukasten im Schulhaus (Haupteingang) bewundern kann.

„Not only is Morton Rhue a good author but also a good reader with an exciting, nice pronunciation, different voices for different characters of the book. Spontaneously, he gave interesting, thoughtful and funny answers to the pupils’ questions. Also, he gave us tips for our own style of writing, for Abitur as well as for  the studying process.
